The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government Department has introduced a new work policy as part of efforts to manage resources during the ongoing fuel crisis. According to an official notification, all employees of the department will now work from home every Friday.
This decision has been taken as part of an austerity drive aimed at reducing fuel consumption and lowering overall expenses. By limiting travel to offices once a week, the government hopes to ease pressure on fuel demand and support broader efforts to manage the energy situation.
Under the new directive, staff members will continue their duties remotely on Fridays, ensuring that work and services are not disrupted. The department has emphasized the importance of maintaining productivity and communication while working from home.
The policy will remain in effect for an initial period of two months. After that, authorities will review the situation and decide whether to extend the arrangement based on current conditions.
This move comes at a time when rising fuel concerns, linked to ongoing international tensions involving United States, Israel, and Iran, are affecting energy supplies and prices globally.
Officials believe that such steps can help manage resources more efficiently while ensuring that government operations continue smoothly. The initiative also reflects a growing focus on flexible work arrangements during challenging times.
