Forty-four medical students from Gaza have now started their studies at Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU) in Pakistan. These students were previously studying at Al-Azhar University but were forced to transfer due to recent violence in Gaza.

Their relocation to Pakistan was made possible after Dr. Yousaf Al-Din, a key advocate, reached out to Pakistani authorities, asking for support in helping these students continue their medical education. In response, the Pakistani government, working closely with RMU, organized a smooth transition for the students, allowing them to continue their studies in a safe environment.

This initiative offers these students the chance to pursue their dreams of becoming doctors, despite the challenges they faced at home. At RMU, they have access to high-quality medical education, resources, and skilled faculty. Pakistan’s decision to welcome these students not only highlights its commitment to supporting education but also to humanitarian values, standing with the people of Gaza during difficult times.

For these students, the opportunity to study in Pakistan is more than just an academic shift; it’s a chance to rebuild their lives and focus on a future where they can help others as medical professionals. This gesture by Pakistan and RMU showcases the power of international support and cooperation, creating new pathways for students whose lives were disrupted by conflict.
