Massive Fuel Hike! Petrol, Diesel Prices Likely to Skyrocket in Pakistan Before Next Fortnight

Petrol pump dealers across Pakistan have warned that a temporary shutdown of some fuel stations could occur if supply levels continue to decline. According to industry representatives, diesel stocks have reportedly fallen to around 20 percent while petrol availability is estimated at nearly 50 percent in certain areas. Dealers have raised concerns about possible hoarding and uncertainty over future price adjustments, which they say is creating disruptions in the normal supply chain and adding pressure on fuel retailers.

Government officials, however, have assured the public that the country currently holds adequate fuel reserves. Authorities state that Pakistan has approximately 28 days of petroleum stocks available, including about 10 days of crude oil reserves. Officials also confirmed that additional fuel supplies are being arranged through international routes, including shipments passing through the Red Sea, to maintain stable availability across the country.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has announced that the government is introducing several energy conservation measures to manage fuel consumption more efficiently. These steps include closely monitoring supply chains, reviewing fuel prices on a weekly basis, and coordinating with oil marketing companies to ensure that supplies reach petrol pumps without disruption. The aim, officials say, is to stabilize the market and prevent artificial shortages.

Authorities have also urged the public to remain calm and avoid panic buying, emphasizing that the country has sufficient reserves to meet current demand. In addition, oil shipments from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are being rerouted and expedited to support Pakistan’s fuel supply system and prevent any prolonged disruption.
