In a major operation, the Islamabad Food Authority carried out a raid in Tarnol and seized a large amount of donkey meat. Officials said they found 25 maunds of donkey meat, which is more than 900 kilograms, along with over 50 live donkeys at the site.

Initial findings suggest that the meat was being prepared to be exported to other countries. During the raid, authorities also arrested a foreign national who was present at the facility. He has now been handed over to the local police for further investigation.

The recovered donkey meat is being safely destroyed so that it does not enter the local food market. A case has been registered against the people involved in this illegal activity. Officials are now trying to find out more about the entire network behind this operation, including where the donkey meat was being sent and who was buying it.

The Islamabad Food Authority has assured the public that they are taking this matter seriously and will continue to crack down on anyone involved in illegal meat trade. They also urged people to be cautious when buying meat and to always purchase from verified and licensed shops only.

This raid is part of the government’s wider effort to ensure food safety and protect the public from harmful or unhygienic food practices. More inspections and strict action are expected in the coming days to stop such activities and hold those responsible accountable.
