UAE’s Etihad Airline Resumes Flights to Peshawar After 10 Years

Etihad Airways has officially restarted its operations at Bacha Khan International Airport (BKIAP) in Peshawar after more than a decade, marking a significant comeback for the airline. The first flight, EY-276, arrived from Abu Dhabi and was greeted with a traditional water salute, a gesture often used in aviation to welcome special flights and milestones.

According to the airline, Etihad will now operate five weekly flights on the Abu Dhabi–Peshawar route. These flights will take place on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, giving passengers more options to travel between the two cities. The return service, flight EY-277, is scheduled to depart from Peshawar every morning at 8:00 am.

This new addition makes Etihad Airways the third international airline to launch services from BKIAP in 2025, following Fly Dubai and Flyadeal, which resumed flights earlier this year. Aviation experts believe this expansion will not only boost connectivity for travelers but also strengthen trade and business links between the UAE and Pakistan.

For the people of Peshawar and nearby regions, the return of Etihad Airways is seen as an important step in improving travel convenience, as it offers a direct link to Abu Dhabi and beyond to the airline’s global network.
