Islamabad International Airport has been named the best major airport in Pakistan for 2024, according to a new audit carried out by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA).

The audit reviewed airports across the country and measured their performance in several important areas including passenger services, cleanliness, safety measures, and baggage handling systems.

Islamabad International Airport secured the top position by scoring higher than Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport and Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport in every key category. The audit praised the airport for its modern facilities, efficient operations, and commitment to passenger comfort and safety.

In addition to major airports, the PAA also evaluated regional airports. Multan International Airport earned the highest ranking among regional facilities, performing better than Peshawar, Quetta, and Faisalabad airports.

Multan was recognized for its improved services, cleanliness, and smooth management of passenger flow, making it a preferred choice for many travelers in southern Punjab.

The audit also highlighted the role of airport management teams in maintaining high standards. Both Islamabad and Multan airport managers were awarded special letters of appreciation by the PAA for their leadership and commitment to providing excellent services.

This recognition reflects the progress Pakistan’s aviation sector is making in improving infrastructure and passenger experience.

With international and domestic travel increasing, the PAA believes these rankings will encourage healthy competition among airports and push for better facilities nationwide.

The results show that Pakistan’s airports are steadily moving towards higher standards, aiming to match international benchmarks and provide travelers with safe, clean and convenient journeys.
