KARACHI: A delegation from an Electric Car Manufacturing Company called on Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon at his office in the Sindh Secretariat, Karachi. Provincial Minister for Labour and Social Protection Saeed Ghani was also present at the meeting.

The delegation gave a detailed briefing to Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and Minister Saeed Ghani on the electric vehicle (EV) models they have developed, local assembly operations, and charging infrastructure projects. The delegation also discussed potential areas of partnership with the Sindh government.

Speaking on the occasion, Senior Minister said that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the Sindh government are committed to providing modern, eco-friendly, and affordable travel facilities for the public. He said, “We want to launch the electric taxi service as soon as possible so that citizens can benefit from better transport options. Electric vehicles will help save fuel and reduce environmental pollution.”

Sharjeel Memon added that the Sindh government is developing comprehensive plans in collaboration with the private sector for public transport and other related areas. Electric vehicle technology will not only create new employment opportunities but also open doors for innovation and investment in the industrial sector,” he said. He emphasized that the Sindh government is committed to the agenda of sustainable development, and promoting electric vehicles is an important step in that direction.
