Homebuilt! Pakistan Launch First Locally Made Advanced X-Ray Machine

Pakistan has achieved a major milestone in medical technology by creating its first advanced X-ray machine entirely within the country. This breakthrough was revealed at the 22nd Health Asia International Exhibition held in Karachi, one of Pakistan’s biggest healthcare events.

The new machine is called a Flat Panel Digital Radiography (FDR) system. What makes it special is that Pakistani engineers designed and built it completely using local resources and expertise.

Unlike traditional X-ray machines, this one is portable, meaning it can be moved easily from place to place. It works fully digitally and can even be controlled through a mobile phone, making it very convenient for doctors and medical staff.

One of the biggest advantages is its cost. Since it’s made locally, it’s much more affordable than X-ray machines imported from other countries. This could help more hospitals and clinics across Pakistan afford modern medical equipment.

The exhibition also featured many other exciting medical innovations. Visitors saw AI-powered systems that assist doctors in diagnosing patients, specially designed ambulances, small patches that monitor heartbeats, and plans for completely digital hospitals in the future.

Other displays included advanced treatments like cell and gene therapies for serious diseases, new solutions for couples facing infertility problems, and information about charitable healthcare services for those who cannot afford treatment.

This event demonstrated that Pakistan’s healthcare and technology sectors are growing rapidly. The country is developing its own medical solutions rather than depending entirely on expensive imports, which could improve healthcare access for millions of Pakistanis.
