After Two Years! G@za Children Slowly Return to School Following Ce@sefire

After two long years of war and displacement, children in Gaza are finally returning to school following a recently agreed ceasefire. The return marks a small but hopeful step toward normal life for thousands of families who have faced immense hardship.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has begun reopening several schools and creating temporary learning spaces in damaged areas. So far, more than 25,000 children have resumed in-person classes, while about 300,000 students continue to learn online due to damaged school buildings or safety concerns.

Many schools, such as Al Hassaina School in Nuseirat, were used as shelters for displaced families during the conflict. Now, as classrooms reopen, teachers and volunteers are helping clean up debris, repair furniture, and provide emotional support to students.

For children like 11-year-old Warda Radwan, returning to school is more than just continuing lessons, it’s a sign of hope and healing. “I just want to study again and be with my friends,” she said, smiling as she held her new notebook.

Despite the challenges of overcrowded classrooms and limited resources, the atmosphere is filled with excitement and determination. Humanitarian organizations are working to supply books, uniforms, and psychological care to help students cope with trauma.

As peace gradually returns, the reopening of schools represents a new beginning for Gaza’s young generation, one built on education, resilience, and the dream of a safer future.
