Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs will host the International Qirat Competition (IQC-2025) in Islamabad from November 24 to 29.

The event will bring together more than 34 Qaris (reciters) from member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), making it one of the most significant Qur’anic recitation gatherings in the region.

The competition will take place at the NUML Auditorium, while the grand prize ceremony will be held at the Jinnah Convention Center.

The aim of this event is to promote the art of Qur’anic recitation, strengthen unity among Muslim nations, and highlight Pakistan’s cultural and spiritual heritage on the global stage.

Officials said that participants will be evaluated on their pronunciation, voice control, and rhythm as they recite verses from the Holy Quran. The competition is expected to create a platform for cultural exchange and spiritual connection among different countries.

High-level dignitaries and scholars from Pakistan and abroad are expected to attend the sessions, reflecting Pakistan’s growing importance in religious diplomacy within the Muslim world.

Through this initiative, the Ministry of Religious Affairs hopes to encourage young reciters, promote interfaith harmony, and project a positive image of Pakistan internationally.

The event will not only celebrate the beauty of Qur’anic recitation but also reinforce the country’s role as a center of faith, culture and unity across the Islamic world.
