Punjab Food Authority Launches Nutritious Fruit Bars for School Children

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA), together with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), has introduced new nutrient-enriched fruit bars for children.

This step aims to encourage healthier snacking habits and make sure that children receive important vitamins and minerals needed for their growth. The idea behind the project is to offer snacks that are both tasty and beneficial for children’s overall development.

According to PFA Director General Asim Javaid, many children do not get the balanced nutrition they need in their daily diets. He explained that introducing healthier food options is one way to support better eating habits from an early age.

He also said that raising awareness among parents, schools, and communities is just as important as creating nutritious products. Together, these efforts can help reduce the growing concern of child malnutrition.

The new fruit bars are designed not only as a snack but as a small step toward improving children’s health across Punjab. They are enriched with nutrients that can support energy, immunity, and physical growth. PFA hopes that by making nutritious options more accessible, children will naturally begin choosing healthier foods.

This project is part of a larger plan to build a healthier future for the next generation. The partnership between PFA and GAIN brings together nutrition, education, and innovation to create long-term positive change. Officials believe that such initiatives can inspire more organizations to introduce healthy food solutions for children.
