Aid Across Borders! Pakistan Navy Delivers Humanitarian Air to Flood Victims in Sri Lanka

The Pakistan Navy has extended a strong message of support and friendship to Sri Lanka after Cyclone Ditwah caused severe destruction in the country. A Pakistan Navy Warship, PNS Saif, arrived at Colombo Port carrying important humanitarian aid for families affected by the floods.

The shipment included essential items such as food supplies, Meals Ready to Eat (MREs), dry rations, medicines, and first-aid kits. These items were sent to help people who lost their homes, belongings, and access to basic necessities because of the disaster.

Cyclone Ditwah left a major humanitarian crisis in Sri Lanka. More than 500,000 people were affected, with 153 confirmed dead and 191 reported missing.

Many communities were displaced as floodwaters damaged homes, roads, and infrastructure. In such a difficult situation, quick assistance was urgently needed to support rescue and recovery operations.

The Pakistan Navy’s relief effort reflects the strong relationship between the two countries. It also shows Pakistan’s commitment to helping neighboring nations during times of hardship.

By delivering emergency supplies, Pakistan hopes to ease the suffering of flood victims and support the Sri Lankan government’s ongoing relief work.

Officials from both sides appreciated the timely assistance, noting that such cooperation strengthens regional ties and promotes unity in challenging times.

The aid delivered by PNS Saif is expected to provide immediate relief to affected families and contribute to recovery efforts as Sri Lanka works to rebuild after the destruction caused by the cyclone.
