Another worrying incident has taken place in Karachi, where a young girl accidentally fell into an open manhole. Thankfully, people nearby saw what happened and rushed to help her, preventing a possible tragedy. Their quick action saved the child from serious injury.

Open and uncovered manholes remain a big danger in many parts of the city. Despite repeated complaints from residents, these unsafe spots continue to appear on roads, footpaths, and in residential areas. Locals say that such incidents show how urgent it is for the authorities to fix the problem before more people get hurt.

The most recent incident reportedly happened in the area of Gulshan-e-Iqbal. A video of the moment spread quickly on social media, drawing concern and anger from citizens.

In the clip, the girl is seen falling through the uncovered manhole while walking. Bystanders immediately react, pull her out of the drain, and wash her with clean water to make sure she is safe and not injured.

People online and in the neighborhood praised the rescuers for their bravery and quick thinking. Many also criticized the poor condition of the city’s drainage system and demanded stronger action from the administration. They said that unattended manholes are not just an inconvenience—they are life-threatening hazards.

Residents are again calling on the authorities to cover all open manholes, conduct regular inspections, and respond quickly to public complaints. They say that no child or adult should face such a frightening and dangerous situation while simply walking on the road.

The incident has sparked new discussions about safety and responsibility, as Karachi’s citizens hope for lasting improvements in the city’s infrastructure.
