Degrees to be Attested in Minutes, Not Weeks, as HEC to Digitalize Degree Attestation System

HEC has announced that it will introduce a fully automated degree attestation system powered by blockchain technology.

The new system is expected to launch within the next six months and aims to make the entire verification process faster, safer, and completely digital.

With this upcoming system, graduates will no longer need to visit HEC offices, stand in long queues, or submit physical documents for verification. Instead, everything will be done online.

This change is expected to save time, reduce paperwork, and eliminate many of the delays students and professionals currently face.

HEC also shared that degrees from 25 universities and higher education institutions that already use ERP systems will be added directly to the blockchain as soon as students graduate.

This means their degrees will be automatically verified and stored in a secure, digital format. For universities that do not yet have ERP systems, HEC will allow them to upload degree documents online so they can also become part of the blockchain network.

Once a degree is recorded on the blockchain, it can be instantly verified by any authorized department, including government offices, embassies, overseas missions, and private companies. This will help employers and institutions quickly check the authenticity of qualifications without waiting for manual attestation.

According to HEC, the blockchain-based system will provide tamper-proof records, ensuring that degrees cannot be altered, forged, or misused. The initiative is designed to increase transparency, improve security, and modernize Pakistan’s overall degree verification process.

HEC believes that this digital transformation will not only help graduates but also boost the country’s credibility in international academic and professional environments.
