Pakistan Faces Water Crisis as 80% Lack Safe Drinking Water
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsapp

Pakistan is facing a severe water crisis, with the Asian Development Bank reporting that more than 80 percent of people in the country do not have access to clean and safe drinking water. The growing population, changing climate, poor planning, and excessive use of groundwater have made the situation even worse. These issues have led to serious water shortages, unsafe water sources, and a rise in waterborne diseases that affect millions of people.

Although there have been some efforts to improve water supply in both rural and urban areas, many challenges still remain. The country needs stronger infrastructure, better systems for treating and distributing water, and more reliable management at the local and national levels. Experts say that Pakistan must invest more in water projects, improve coordination between government institutions, and strictly enforce rules related to water use and protection. Without these urgent steps, ensuring fair and sustainable access to safe water for everyone will continue to be extremely difficult.

This information is based on available reports and is meant for general awareness. For complete details, please refer to official sources.
