CTO Lahore recovers Rs2.646bn in major tax enforcement action

ISLAMABAD: In a significant enforcement breakthrough aimed at strengthening tax compliance, the Corporate Tax Office (CTO) Lahore has recovered Rs 2.646 billion in an enforcement action conducted by the CTO Lahore

The recovery pertains to outstanding income tax demand created against a taxpayer who failed to fulfill his statutory obligations after successful completion of assessment proceeding. CTO Lahore successfully created not only a substantial amount of demand in a single case but also effected recovery following all the legal procedures professionally and in accordance with the applicable provisions of the tax law.

This recovery reflects the effectiveness and professionalism of the FBR and its field formations in handling high-value cases and safeguarding government revenue. The action demonstrates FBR’s firm approach towards addressing serious instances of tax default while ensuring due process and fairness.

Member (IR-Operations), FBR commended the dedicated efforts of the officers of CTO Lahore in enforcing tax laws and protecting public revenue.

FBR reiterated its commitment to promote voluntary compliance while continuing to take decisive action against non-compliance.
