FIFA President Gianni Infantino has shared that the demand for tickets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup has been extremely high. According to him, FIFA received around 150 million ticket requests in just 15 days. This shows the huge global excitement for the tournament, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

To make sure more fans can afford to attend the matches, FIFA has introduced a special ticket category priced at 60 dollars. This option is mainly for supporters of teams that have already qualified for the World Cup. Infantino said this step is part of FIFA’s effort to make football more accessible and ensure that fans from different backgrounds can experience the World Cup live in stadiums.

He also explained that the money earned from ticket sales is not kept only for major events. Instead, FIFA reinvests this revenue back into football development around the world. These funds help support football programs, infrastructure, and growth initiatives in nearly 150 countries, especially in developing regions.

When it comes to ticket interest, the United States recorded the highest number of requests. Germany and the United Kingdom followed closely behind, highlighting the strong interest from both host nations and traditional football-loving countries.

In another major announcement, Infantino confirmed that Dubai will host the next edition of the FIFA Best Awards. The prestigious event celebrates the world’s top football players, coaches, and teams. Hosting the awards in Dubai reflects FIFA’s aim to take major football events to different regions and promote the game as a sport that brings people together across cultures and borders.
