China Confirms J-10CE Fighter Scored First Combat Success in May India-Pakistan Conflict

China has officially confirmed that its J-10CE fighter jet recorded its first combat success during the May 2025 military confrontation between India and Pakistan.

Chinese state media reported that the J-10CE aircraft successfully shot down several enemy fighter jets during the conflict without suffering any losses. This performance was presented as proof of the strength and reliability of China’s locally developed military technology in real combat conditions.

During the four-day standoff, Pakistan stated that its air force downed six Indian aircraft. According to Pakistani officials, the aircraft included advanced fighter jets such as the Rafale. India later acknowledged that it had suffered aircraft losses, although it did not provide specific details about the number or types involved.

The confrontation provided a rare opportunity to see Chinese-made fighter jets operating against Western-designed aircraft in an actual battlefield environment. Defense analysts say this real-world testing has increased global attention on Chinese platforms, especially the J-10CE and the jointly produced JF-17.

The reported performance of these aircraft has also strengthened Pakistan’s position in the international defense market, with growing interest from other countries looking to modernize their air forces using cost-effective alternatives to Western fighter jets.
