Pakistan has extended its ban on Indian-registered aircraft, keeping its airspace closed to them until 5:00 AM on February 24, according to the Pakistan Airports Authority. The decision means that Indian airlines will not be allowed to use Pakistani airspace during this period.

The restriction applies to all aircraft owned, operated, or leased by Indian airlines. This also includes military flights, making the ban comprehensive in scope. As a result, Indian carriers are required to reroute their international flights to avoid Pakistani airspace, which may lead to longer travel times and increased operational costs.

Due to Pakistan’s strategic location, its airspace is an important route for flights traveling between South Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and beyond. The continued closure is expected to impact flight planning and schedules for Indian airlines operating long-haul international routes.

Officials have stated that the decision will remain in effect until the announced deadline, after which the situation will be reviewed. Any further extension or lifting of the restriction will depend on official assessments and government directives.

Passengers traveling on affected routes are advised to stay in contact with their airlines for updated schedules and possible changes to flight timings.
