Sri Lankan shares closed higher for a third straight session on Friday, led by financial and industrial stocks, and extended their weekly winning run to four.
The CSE All-Share index rose 0.6% to 23,956.51. The index posted gains of nearly 1% for the week.
Conglomerate Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) Plc and Office Equipment Plc were the biggest boosts to the index, rising 25% each.
Trading volume rose to 258.9 million shares from 187.1 million in the previous session.
The equity market’s turnover rose to 10.5 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($33.90 million), compared with 8.32 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
Foreign investors were net sellers of shares worth 186.8 million rupees in the equity market, while domestic investors were net buyers of shares worth 10.4 billion rupees, data showed.
