Unikrew Solutions, a leading digital technology company specializing in Digital Identity, Islamic Digital Finance, seamless Digital Onboarding, and Generative AI-driven solutions, serving over 40 financial and public sector organizations, including national-level use cases in Pakistan, announced that its indigenous facial recognition technology has successfully demonstrated conformance with ISO/IEC 30107-3, the internationally recognized standard for Presentation Attack Detection (PAD). The conformance evaluation was conducted by iBeta Quality Assurance, a globally recognized and accredited biometric testing laboratory.

With this milestone, Unikrew Solutions becomes the first Pakistani company to achieve ISO/IEC 30107-3 conformance for locally developed facial recognition technology, marking a significant advancement for Pakistan’s indigenous biometric and digital identity ecosystem.

ISO/IEC 30107-3 defines rigorous testing methodologies to evaluate a biometric system’s ability to detect and prevent presentation attacks, including photo, video replay, and mask-based spoofing attempts. Unikrew Solutions’ facial recognition technology demonstrated strong resistance against such attacks, reinforcing its suitability for high-assurance identity verification and KYC use cases.

Unikrew Solutions’ facial recognition technology has been in continuous production use since 2021, enabling seamless and secure digital onboarding journeys across a large number of financial institutions, as well as multiple national-level institutions. The technology supports large-scale deployments for eKYC, digital account opening, customer verification, and identity authentication, and also supports ICAO-compliant facial photo capture, making it suitable for passport-grade and government-regulated identity workflows.

A key differentiator of Unikrew Solutions’ platform is its passive liveness detection mechanism, which validates the genuineness of a person without requiring any movement-based challenges from the user. By performing liveness checks silently in the background, the technology delivers a frictionless customer experience while maintaining a high level of security.

“Conformance with ISO/IEC 30107-3, validated through independent testing by iBeta, reflects the robustness, maturity, and real-world readiness of our facial recognition technology,” said Muhammad Naveed Sharif, CEO of Unikrew Solutions. “This achievement demonstrates that Pakistani-built indigenous technology can meet the highest global standards and scale confidently for international markets.”

The ISO/IEC 30107-3 conformance further strengthens trust in Unikrew Solutions’ technology by ensuring zero percent False Acceptance Rate (0% FAR) against presentation attacks, making it suitable for mission-critical deployments in banking, fintech, and government services.

In addition, Unikrew Solutions’ facial recognition technology is fully compliant with the recently mandated multi-biometric verification APIs issued under the Ministry of Interior’s latest directives, aligning seamlessly with Pakistan’s evolving regulatory framework for facial recognition-based identity verification.

This milestone reinforces Unikrew Solutions’ position as a trusted provider of secure, standards-aligned biometric technologies and enables the company to extend its indigenous facial recognition and PAD capabilities to global markets for a wide range of KYC and digital identity use cases.
