Pakistan, KSA to deepen ties in energy and minerals

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reiterated their focus on deepening collaboration in the energy and minerals sectors, while exploring new avenues for mutually beneficial investment opportunities.

The development came during a high-level meeting between Federal Minister for Petroleum, Ali Pervaiz Malik, and H.E. Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, on Friday, to discuss areas of cooperation and further strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed ongoing collaboration and explored new avenues for cooperation, particularly in the energy and minerals sectors, read a statement.

They reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing economic partnership and promoting mutually beneficial investment opportunities.

Al-Malkiy appreciated Pakistan’s active participation in the Future Minerals Forum held recently in Riyadh and highlighted the importance of continued engagement between the two countries to advance cooperation in the minerals sector.

Meanwhile, the federal minister congratulated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the successful organisation of the Future Minerals Forum and noted that the platform offers significant opportunities for regional collaboration.

He emphasised that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia possess vast potential to deepen cooperation in both minerals and energy sectors.

The minister expressed confidence that the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia would translate into tangible outcomes, fostering investment, technology exchange, and sustainable development initiatives for mutual benefit.

Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination to further strengthen economic and strategic cooperation.
