KARACHI: Chairman of the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan (ECAP), Malik Muhammad Bostan, congratulated Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal General Asim Munir, the entire Pakistani nation, the Government of Bangladesh, High Commissioner Bangladesh to Pakistan, and airport authorities on the restoration of direct air links between Pakistan and Bangladesh after 14 years.

He said that the first flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines arrived at Karachi Airport from Dhaka carrying 149 passengers, and that these moments have brought the two brotherly countries even closer.

He said that the restoration of air connectivity between Pakistan and Bangladesh is not only a diplomatic success for Pakistan but will also lead to faster and stronger bilateral trade relations between the two countries.

He added that the coldness created between the peoples of the two nations by the former Bangladeshi government has now come to an end.

Bostan further stated that Pakistan and Bangladesh are brotherly countries, but the Indian government, through its malicious designs, made unsuccessful attempts to create hatred between the two nations. He said those designs have backfired on India itself, and Indian conspiracies have now been exposed before the world.

He added that when the first Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight landed at Jinnah International Airport, the way the Bangladeshi community in Pakistan expressed joy at the airport clearly showed that the people of Bangladesh support strong relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Malik Bostan said that due to the suspension of direct flights, passengers travelling to Bangladesh previously had to take an expensive and lengthy journey via Dubai, which significantly increased travel time. However, with the restoration of direct flights, the flight duration between Dhaka and Karachi will now be about three hours. This will not only save time but will also reduce airfare costs for passengers.
