System Failure or Poor Planning? Elderly Hajj Applicants Forced into 10-12 Hour Queues, Outside Saudi Visa Center

February 3, 2026
in Pakistan

Elderly people applying for Hajj visas were forced to stand in long queues for 10 to 12 hours outside a Saudi visa center, creating serious concern about poor planning and system failures. Many senior citizens struggled in the heat and crowded conditions, which caused physical exhaustion and emotional distress.

The situation raised questions about why proper arrangements were not made, especially for elderly applicants who require extra care and support. There were reports of limited seating, lack of shade, and no special arrangements for older people, making the experience even more difficult for them.

This incident has highlighted the urgent need for better organization, improved facilities, and a more efficient system during the Hajj visa application process. Authorities are being urged to introduce priority services and better management to ensure that elderly pilgrims are treated with dignity and care.
