HYDERABAD: Zubair Ghangra, Chairman of the Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade & Industry (HSATI), has emphasized that the small and medium industrial enterprises (SMEs) in Hyderabad SITE are a vital pillar of Pakistan’s economy. These industries contribute significantly to the national GDP, provide employment to thousands in non-agricultural sectors, and play an active role in exports.

Their production and commercial activities are critical for the country’s economic growth. However, despite their importance, these enterprises have not received the same policy support, basic facilities, and financial assistance as industrial zones in Karachi.

Ghangra highlighted that Hyderabad SITE industries continue to face multiple challenges, including inadequate infrastructure, deteriorating roads, limited power supply, insufficient water and gas availability, and security concerns, particularly during night time. These constraints have negatively affected industrial production, increased transportation costs, and impacted export performance.
