Japanese envoy briefed about privatisation process

ISLAMABAD: Wada Mitsuhiro, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan called on the Federal Minister for Privatisation, Investment and Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, Wednesday.

Issues of mutual interest and cooperation came under discussion at length.

The federal minister expressed the desire to enhance cooperation with Japan for achieving growth and development.

The ambassador also complimented the current government’s policy initiatives for supporting economy and investment.

The federal minister apprised the Japanese ambassador of the ongoing privatisation process in Pakistan and the resulting prospective investment opportunities.

The Government of Pakistan is going to privatise all state-owned enterprises other than strategic and essential ones.

The ambassador also shared Japan’s experiences of successful privatisation.

The federal minister also informed the ambassador about the government’s efforts for enabling ease of doing business in Pakistan.

The federal minister invited Japanese investors to invest in Pakistan where they will be getting a very good return on investment and offered to facilitate them in all manner possible.

The federal minister also thanked the ambassador and the government of Japan for their longstanding and continuous support for Pakistan.
