Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has initiated Islamabad’s largest tree plantation drive, with the ambitious goal of planting 4 million trees in just 60 days. This large-scale campaign aims to reduce environmental pollution, enhance the beauty of the city, and protect the wildlife in the Margalla Hills area.

CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa is overseeing the project. He is focusing on using all available resources to restore the Margalla Hills to their original beauty and mitigate the damage caused by wildfires. The campaign emphasizes planting fruit-bearing and flowering plants to create a greener and more vibrant Islamabad.

To ensure the success of this initiative, there will be digital monitoring of the saplings. This will help track the growth and health of the trees, ensuring that they thrive and contribute to the city’s green landscape. The digital monitoring system will provide real-time data on the progress of the plantation drive, allowing for timely interventions if needed.

This tree plantation drive is more than just an environmental effort; it is a step towards making Islamabad a more sustainable and beautiful city. By planting millions of trees, the campaign will not only improve air quality and provide habitat for wildlife but also offer residents and visitors a more pleasant and healthy environment.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to promote sustainability and environmental conservation in Pakistan. As the trees grow, they will serve as a lasting testament to the city’s commitment to a greener future. This drive is expected to inspire similar efforts across the country, contributing to a nationwide movement towards environmental preservation and urban beautification.
