He went looking for treasures but ended up with, well, nothing. A man entered a house in Telangana hoping to nick some valuable stuff but soon saw his expectations disappear in a puff of smoke as there was nothing to steal.
The disappointed thief, out of sheer sympathy, left a Rs20 note on the table as a parting gesture. Footage of the act, which was caught on CCTV cameras, has sent social media into a tizzy.
The incident took place in Maheshwaram in the Rangareddy district. The video, which was shared by a journalist from a well-known TV channel, gained nearly 90,000 views.
Netizens reacted and responded to the video. One user wrote, “Bro thinks a house having CCTV but not having physical money are poor.”
Meanwhile, another user mentioned, “Very kind- hearted thief….” And a third said, “Why there is camera in kitchen? How did he know there was camera in kitchen?”
Not all thieves are kind-hearted, though. Recently a gang of thieves stole jewellery worth Rs3 lakh from a resident of Noida Sector 25 and then in Noida Sector 83. They cooked pakoras and rested but also smoked beedis, drank water, and spat betel juice in the victims’ bathroom.
