Ajman: Two individuals of Asian nationality were apprehended by the Ajman Police on charges of illicit sales and storage of a considerable quantity of e-cigarettes, amounting to 797,555 units, in contravention of licensing and tax regulations.

An investigation task force was promptly constituted within the CID. Following the completion of all legal procedures and in close collaboration with the Federal Prosecution for Tax Evasion Crimes, the site was subjected to a raid, resulting in the seizure of a considerable quantity of electronic cigarettes from multiple companies owned by two individuals of Asian nationality, Col. Al Nuaimi added.
A search of the location yielded 797,555 e-cigarettes stored in five rooms within the villa, bearing the trademarks of hundreds of e-cigarette manufacturers. The two suspects, both of Asian nationality M.Sh.N. in 40s and M.Sh.H. in 30s were apprehended and subsequently referred to the Federal Prosecution for Tax Evasion Crimes.
The Director of the CID commended the efficiency and expertise of the police officers and their efforts that enabled them to apprehend the suspects. He also urged the public to exercise caution when purchasing goods from unlicensed outlets and to promptly report any suspicious activity, stressing the commitment of the Ajman Police to addressing tax evasion crimes and acts of national security and public safety threats.
