Pakistan’s PM Shahbaz meets 5-year-old Guinness World Record holder Sufiyan

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has met with five-year-old Sufiyan Mehsood from Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa province, who recently set a Guinness World Record.
Sufiyan has made Pakistan and his parents proud by achieving this feat at a very young age, the prime minster said.
The meeting took place at the PM House in Islamabad, where the Prime Minister praised Sufiyan for making Pakistan proud at such a young age, Express Tribune reported on Sunday.
Shahbaz emphasised the importance of providing opportunities for youth to engage in sports and other positive activities.
He directed Rana Mashhood, Chairman of the PM Youth Programme, and other relevant authorities to enhance sports facilities for young people across the country.

Sufiyan Mehsood along with his father Irfan Mehsood, had set the record for the fastest time to climb around a person, achieving 7.87 seconds, was achieved  on June 19, 2024.
“Sufiyan’s achievement is a testament to the bright future of Pakistan’s youth,” the Prime Minister remarked, adding that young talents like Sufiyan are the nation’s pride.

During the meeting, Sufiyan expressed his ambition to make Pakistan’s name shine even brighter by becoming a scientist in the future.
The prime minister also conversed with Sufiyan in his native Pashto. Shahbaz also spoke to Sufiyan’s father, Irfan Mehsood, who holds more than 100 Guinness Book of World Records, specialises in martial arts. Irfan Mehsood runs a martial arts training academy in Dera Ismail Khan. Irfan informed the prime minister about his sports and physical training academy in Dera Ismail Khan and the achievements of its trained athletes.
Shahbaz directed the PM Youth Programme to collaborate with Irfan Mehsood’s sports academy and take steps to promote sports nationwide.
