The Joint Assessment Team for Weather and Tropical Cases (JAT) has announced that the tropical situation (Asna) in the Arabian Sea is over. It had no direct impact on the country.
In order to ensure the safety and security of the population, the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) and the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) closely monitored the tropical state known as “Asna” and its potential consequences for the country.
This was achieved through the convening of the Joint Assessment Team for Weather and Tropical Cases (JAT), which met to deliberate on all potential scenarios and the necessary preventive and precautionary measures to be taken in light of the observed conditions in the areas affected by Asna.
The NCM confirmed that the tropical situation and its indirect impact on the country ended. This follows the transformation of the tropical depression into an air depression, accompanied by a gradual improvement in sea conditions.
The situation on the ground demonstrated the accuracy of the NCM’s predictions, which were instrumental in the preparation and readiness to deal with the situation and maintain the safety of citizens and residents in an efficient and competent manner.
