Google has announced a big plan to manufacture 500,000 Chromebooks in Pakistan by the year 2026. At a special launch event held in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was presented with the very first Chromebook by Scott Beaumont, who is the President of Google Asia Pacific.

During the event, Google’s Regional Director, Farhan Qureshi, spoke about how this initiative could greatly help Pakistan’s technology sector and provide new opportunities for freelancers. He emphasized the positive impact this project could have on the country’s tech industry.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his appreciation for Google’s investment and discussed Pakistan’s huge potential in the IT sector. He highlighted the government’s goal to achieve $25 billion in IT exports over the next five years.

The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of focusing on IT education and the need to digitize government services to drive the country’s development.

This ambitious project demonstrates Google’s strong commitment to improving Pakistan’s digital infrastructure and supporting its growing tech ecosystem. It is expected to create new jobs, enhance the skills of young professionals, and strengthen the country’s presence in the global IT market.
