Paid Holiday Announced for Public Sector on Prophet’s Birthday in UAE

In honor of the upcoming Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources in the UAE has declared a paid holiday for all public sector employees. The holiday is set to be observed on Sunday, September 15, following the decision made by the UAE Cabinet regarding the country’s official public holidays for the year.

This holiday is a significant event for Muslims across the world, commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad, which is traditionally observed on the 12th of Rabi’ Al-Awwal, the third month in the Islamic calendar. In the UAE and other Gulf countries, it holds deep religious importance and is marked with various community gatherings and events.

The public holiday will provide a day of reflection and religious observance for government employees and their families. Many mosques in the UAE are expected to hold special prayers and sermons to honor the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad.

This announcement also adds to the excitement as UAE residents anticipate another extended holiday in early December. The country’s National Day, which is celebrated on December 2 and 3, falls on Monday and Tuesday this year.

When combined with the typical Saturday-Sunday weekend, residents will enjoy a four-day break, offering an opportunity for families to engage in festive activities, travel, or simply relax.

The Prophet Muhammad’s birthday holiday and the upcoming National Day long weekend are eagerly anticipated by the public, further contributing to the UAE’s culture of celebrating both religious and national milestones with dedicated public holidays.
