DNTV, Staff Reporter
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched a pre-booking service for vehicle tests at Tasjeel centres in Al Qusais and Al Barsha.
Vehicle owners can book appointments for testing their vehicles through RTA’s smart app (RTA Dubai), or RTA’s main website.
This initiative is part of RTA’s ongoing efforts to enhance the experience of motorists and vehicle owners by providing easily accessible top-tier services through various channels.
The introduction of this service directly addresses feedback and suggestions from vehicle owners and motorists to expand and improve service delivery channels.
The introduction of this service aimed at improving the quality of this vital service, which serves a large portion of the population. The booking feature assists vehicle owners in avoiding long waiting times, which can occur on specific days and during peak hours. For customers who choose to visit Tasjeel centres of Al Qusais and Al Barsha without a booking during the trial period, there will be a charge of AED 100.
The services covered under this booking system include Renewal Test, Registration Test, Export with Number Plates Test. However, other vehicle test services can still be accessed without booking.
People of Determination and Senior Citizens & Residents are not required to book any of the vehicle test services. This exemption stems from RTA’s commitment to facilitating the delivery of services for these two categories of vehicle owners without needing to book an appointment in advance.
RTA has selected Al Qusais and Al Barsha Tasjeel centres as they are among the largest vehicle test centres in the emirate. The decision to introduce booking at these centres aims to benefit a large segment of customers and improve their overall experience, especially since many vehicle owners are accustomed to arriving without booking.
RTA will closely monitor and evaluate the performance of both centres during the pilot phase to identify strengths and areas for improvement and to implement more efficient solutions as needed.
