Dubai Court of Misdemeanor sentenced an Asian driver to one month in jail to be followed by deportation and fined him Dhs1,200 for stealing a spare tyre from a truck in a yard in Al Quoz Industrial Area in Dubai.
The case dated back to last April when an Asian reported to the police that he had suspicions that a tyre had been stolen from a vehicle parked in a parking lot in Al Quoz.
The man stated that he saw the defendant sneaking into a truck parking lot and approaching a truck at a late hour from which he dismantled a tyre and placed it in a vehicle parked nearby before he fled away.
A policeman stated in the interrogations that a team of detectives identified and arrested the defendant after gathering inferences from the site of the report and checking the on-site surveillance cameras.
On interrogation, the defendant admitted that he had stolen a truck tyre using a vehicle that belonged to a car rental company and sold the same to another man.
