The Dubai Police celebrated the graduation of the first female land rescue team batch, comprising 18 non-commissioned officers at the state level.
The ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, along with Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commandant for Operation Affairs; Major General Rashid Mohammed Khalifa Al Falasi, Director of the General Department of Transport and Rescue; Brigadier Dr. Saleh Al Hamrani, Acting Director of the General Department of Excellence and Pioneering; Brigadier Nabil Al Rida, Deputy Director of the General Department of Transport and Rescue; and Colonel Expert Khalid Al Hammadi, Director of the Search and Rescue Department, as well as several other officers.
The Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police congratulated the members of the first female team of its kind in the country on their graduation from specialised land rescue courses.
He emphasised Dubai Police’s commitment to empowering women in various security and military fields by enhancing their skills and providing both theoretical and practical training. “This approach aims to strengthen their ability to perform their duties effectively and professionally, equipping them to handle emergencies with expertise”, Lt. Gen. Al Marri continued.
He remarked, “Emirati women play a crucial role in the country’s development across various sectors, including security and policing. We are proud to have qualified the first team of female members who will work alongside their male colleagues in land rescue operations. Their presence not only demonstrates their qualifications and ability to tackle challenges but also significantly enhances the overall effectiveness of the police system.”
Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Al Ghaithi congratulated the female members on their graduation, commending their successful completion of courses that simulated real-life scenarios.
He acknowledged their ability to handle incidents and reports to high standards. He also praised the 18 graduates for demonstrating exceptional skills during training and their strong commitment to proving their competence in rescue, extraction, and recovery operations.
The graduates expressed pride in their achievements, especially as pioneers in land rescue operations. They noted that Dubai Police’s dedication to their training and development reflects the Force’s commitment to empowering women in both the security and policing sectors.
The graduation ceremony included executing various scenarios, such as rescue operations for road accidents, firefighting, opening vehicle doors, using rescue equipment, and deploying aerial balloons.
