Motorcycles accidents caused 42 deaths and 1,020 injuries in 2023, says UAE ministry

Motorcycles caused 783 traffic accidents in 2023, resulting in 42 deaths and 1,020 injuries of varying severity, while electric motorcycles caused 20 accidents, resulting in one death and 20 injuries, according to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
In this regard, the Abu Dhabi Police urged delivery motorcycle drivers to adhere to the speed limits and signs on different roads, emphasizing that they will not tolerate the application of the traffic law on reckless drivers who put their lives and the lives of others at risk.
The Abu Dhabi Police also stressed the importance of safe driving and following traffic systems and laws to avoid severe injuries and deaths.
They warned against using mobile phones while driving and emphasized the need to use personal protective equipment, ensure the validity of motorcycle lights, and maintain them regularly. Additionally, they warned against entering prohibited areas and emphasized the importance of maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles.
