Zindigi Prize, Pakistan’s largest entrepreneurial competition, recently concluded its Sindh Regionals at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET). Over 95 startups participated, with Animal Passport from FAST National University of Computing & Emerging Sciences, Karachi, emerging as the winner for their innovative solutions. Internee.pk from Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMUI), Karachi, and Calcix International from the University of Karachi secured the runner-up positions. The event celebrated the creativity and potential of emerging innovators and showcased the dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region.

The Zindigi Prize, which engaged over 160+ universities, generated significant enthusiasm among emerging entrepreneurs seeking seed funding and mentorship opportunities. The event commenced with a vibrant opening ceremony at MUET, setting the tone for an energetic three-day event.

Day two featured workshops on marketing, idea pitching, fundraising, and scaling startups. Participants were inspired by motivational talks from prominent Pakistani entrepreneurs. A Speed Dating session facilitated meaningful interactions between students and industry experts, providing valuable feedback that helped participants deepen their understanding and refine their startup concepts.

Tauha Hussain Ali, Vice Chancellor of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, stated, “The entrepreneurial ecosystem for students is vital for driving innovation and economic growth in Pakistan. Through the Zindigi Prize, academic institutions are empowering students to create jobs and contribute to the country’s sustainable development, shaping the next generation of entrepreneurs.”

Ibtisam Babar, Regional Head of Special Initiatives at Zindigi-JS Bank, added, “We are eager to build connections with a global community of visionaries, promoting collaboration and inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs to drive meaningful change. Through the Zindigi Prize, now the largest entrepreneurial platform in Pakistan, we are committed to giving back to society by empowering our most valuable assets—the youth.”

Following the successful conclusion of the Zindigi Prize nationwide regionals, Pakistan’s first homegrown entrepreneurial platform is going international, starting in Kenya. The International Finals will be held in Islamabad, uniting top entrepreneurs from across the globe.
