Heavy snowfall has led to road closures in Naran, Babusar Top, and Batakundi, cutting off routes to Chilas, Gilgit, and Skardu. Due to the dangerous conditions, police are urging tourists to turn back from Batakundi. Roads are slippery, raising the risk of accidents, and Babusar Top is completely closed to visitors.

This is the season’s first snowfall in Batakundi, according to the Tourism Authority, though Babusar Top experienced snow earlier in the season. The snowfall has added to the scenic beauty of the region, but the snow-covered roads have made travel risky and difficult.

Travelers planning to visit northern areas should check the latest updates on road conditions. The tourism department has set up a 24-hour helpline, accessible at 1422, to keep visitors informed about safe travel routes and weather updates. This service is especially helpful for tourists who may be unfamiliar with the area’s rapidly changing weather conditions.

Tourists are advised to prioritize safety and plan their trips based on current travel advisories. With road conditions likely to worsen as winter continues, anyone planning to travel to these regions should be cautious and stay informed.

By keeping in touch with the tourism helpline and following police guidance, travelers can stay updated on safe routes and avoid potentially hazardous situations caused by the snow.
