Massive Increase in Prices of Solar Panels in Pakistan, Here’s Details

The cost of solar panel systems in Pakistan has recently surged, affecting the affordability of green energy solutions for homes and businesses. Over the past few months, the prices for 5 to 15 kW solar systems have jumped by Rs 1 to 2 lakh, putting additional strain on those looking to switch to renewable energy.

According to Moqar National newspaper, several companies have significantly raised the prices for on-grid solar systems, which directly convert sunlight into electricity for immediate use. For hybrid solar systems, which offer the flexibility to store energy for later use, the expenses have grown even more as consumers are now required to purchase batteries separately, adding to the overall cost.

This price increase could impact the growing trend of adopting solar power in Pakistan, especially for consumers who were considering this shift to reduce electricity bills. With rising costs, many potential buyers may reconsider their options, delaying their plans for renewable energy adoption.

Industry experts suggest that this trend of rising costs might persist due to fluctuations in supply chain expenses and import duties. However, solar energy advocates hope that as demand grows, there may be a push towards more affordable pricing structures in the future to ensure that solar power remains accessible to a wider population.

The recent price hike reflects the ongoing challenges within Pakistan’s renewable energy market, raising concerns about the affordability and long-term adoption of solar power solutions.
