The Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, recently highlighted Nestlé Pakistan’s valuable role in enhancing exports in the packaged food sector. He expressed appreciation for Nestlé’s expanding export operations, which now span 26 countries and have generated USD 23 million in 2024 alone.

Nestlé has committed to supporting Pakistan’s economic growth by setting ambitious goals for its exports. During the event “Limitless Possibilities,” the company shared its vision of reaching USD 50 million in packaged food exports by 2030. Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain praised this commitment, emphasizing the importance of exports in Pakistan’s path toward economic growth and recovery. He noted that Nestlé’s global reach and export contributions bring hope that Pakistan’s export revenues will continue to rise in the coming years. The Minister also acknowledged that Nestlé Pakistan’s goals align well with the government’s priorities to bolster foreign reserves, highlighting how private sector resilience is essential for national economic prosperity.

Nestlé Pakistan CEO Jason Avanceña marked the company’s 35th year of operations in Pakistan, reaffirming its commitment to advancing the national economy through increased exports and foreign revenue generation. Avanceña described Nestlé’s success in expanding its distribution channels from ethnic markets to mainstream retail, establishing partnerships with major global retail chains such as Costco in the U.S., Sobeys in Canada, and Sainsbury’s in the U.K. Looking ahead to 2030, Nestlé aims to broaden its global reach and has set ambitious targets to increase exports. Avanceña emphasized that streamlined regulations, supportive trade agreements, and export incentives will be crucial in achieving these goals.

Claudia Thomas, Chargé d’Affaires at the Swiss Embassy in Pakistan, also extended congratulations to Nestlé Pakistan, recognizing its efforts to support Pakistan’s economic objectives and its contributions to the nation’s development.

Nestlé Pakistan has employed digital marketing and engaging trade activities to drive demand for its products in international markets. This has strengthened the presence of its brands on store shelves and sustained consumer interest in diverse markets such as Afghanistan, the U.S., the U.K., the UAE, Australia, and others.

Demonstrating its commitment to sustainability, Nestlé invested PKR 2 billion in renewable energy projects last year, including solar power installations and biomass boilers at its manufacturing sites across Pakistan. Additionally, Nestlé has increased its local sourcing efforts, now meeting over 90% of its raw material and packaging needs within Pakistan. The company procures 420 million liters of milk, over 7,500 metric tons of wheat and rice, and 50,000 tons of fresh produce from local suppliers, supporting farmers and contributing to the local agricultural economy.

Nestlé Pakistan operates four manufacturing facilities nationwide, producing a wide array of food and beverage products that promote healthier diets. In the past year alone, the company has provided 2 billion servings of fortified, nutritious food tailored to meet the dietary needs of Pakistanis of all ages, underscoring its dedication to health and well-being across the country.
