Pakistan’s Food Exports Cross $2.36 Billion Mark in Four Months

Pakistan’s food export sector recorded a notable 22% growth in the first four months of the current fiscal year, reaching $2.36 billion. This increase highlights the strong performance of agricultural trade, driven by significant gains in rice, sugar, and vegetable exports.

Rice exports exceeded $1 billion, growing by an impressive 52%, with Basmati rice witnessing a surge in global demand. Sugar exports rose dramatically by 413%, generating $108 million in revenue.

Although exports of fish and dry fruits showed a decline, the overall growth indicates the increasing global preference for Pakistani agricultural products, contributing positively to the nation’s economic progress. This trend underscores the potential of the country’s food sector in expanding its global footprint and enhancing its trade balance.
