The Women’s Park in Shalimar Garden, Peshawar, has reopened under the direction of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Social Welfare, Syed Qasim Ali Shah. The park, which is designated for women, was found closed during the minister’s visit. He immediately ordered its reopening to ensure women could benefit from the facility.
To encourage visitors, the minister directed officials to place banners outside the park announcing free entry. This step was taken to make the park easily accessible for women without any financial or other barriers.
Accompanied by the Director General of Metropolitan Peshawar, the minister inspected the park and received a detailed briefing on its current condition and available facilities. He instructed the authorities to improve cleanliness, security, and other basic amenities to enhance the experience for visitors.
In addition to reopening the park, the minister announced plans for a recreational festival specifically for women. This initiative aligns with the government’s efforts to provide safe, accessible, and enjoyable public spaces for women in the region.
