The government has announced that the price of petrol will remain unchanged at Rs. 252.10 per litre for the next two weeks, starting December 16, 2024.
According to an official notification, the rate of petrol will stay the same. However, the prices of other fuels have been reduced to provide some relief to the public.
High-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs. 3.05 per litre, making the new price Rs. 255.38. Similarly, the price of kerosene oil has gone down by Rs. 3.32 per litre, bringing it to Rs. 161.66. Light diesel has also seen a price cut of Rs. 2.78, with the new rate now set at Rs. 148.95 per litre.
These reductions are expected to help consumers, especially during the winter season when the demand for fuels like kerosene and light diesel increases. Kerosene is often used for heating in many households, while diesel fuels are essential for transportation and industrial activities.
By maintaining petrol prices and lowering the rates of other fuels, the government aims to balance affordability and accessibility for the public. These measures come as part of efforts to ease the financial burden on citizens during this period.
