Murree experienced its first snowfall of the winter season on Monday, with temperatures dropping to a chilly minus one degree Celsius. The snowfall has drawn tourists eager to enjoy the winter wonderland, prompting authorities to take measures to manage the rush.
The City Traffic Police in Murree have introduced new steps to prevent traffic jams during the busy snowy period. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Mughees Ahmad Hashmi shared that 200 traffic wardens have been deployed to maintain a smooth flow of vehicles on the roads.
To further ease congestion, some main roads, including View Fourth Road, Bank Road, and Hall Road, will operate as one-way routes. Additionally, key spots such as Habib Bank, GPO Chowk, and Kuldana Road have been declared parking-free zones.
These changes aim to ensure that both locals and tourists can move around safely and comfortably during the snowfall. The traffic police have urged visitors to cooperate by following the rules and parking only in designated areas.
Murree’s snowfall has added to its charm as a popular winter destination. With the new traffic measures in place, tourists can enjoy the scenic beauty without the usual challenges of overcrowding and traffic jams.
