PCB has announced a change in venues for the upcoming ODI tri-series with New Zealand and South Africa. Originally set to take place in Multan, the matches will now be played in Lahore and Karachi as part of preparations for the Champions Trophy in February.

The Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and the National Stadium in Karachi have been chosen due to their ongoing upgrades. These renovations are essential as Pakistan prepares to host its first ICC tournament in nearly 30 years.

At Gaddafi Stadium, seating capacity has been expanded to 35,000, new digital replay screens have been installed, and the hospitality section has been completely revamped. The National Stadium is also undergoing improvements to ensure world-class facilities for both players and fans.

The PCB has confirmed that work at both venues is progressing on schedule and that they will be fully ready to host the series and the Champions Trophy matches, set to start in mid-February.

This decision underscores PCB’s commitment to showcasing top-tier cricket in Pakistan while providing upgraded venues that meet international standards.
