Saudi Arabia’s Islamic Arts Biennale 2025 will feature the first-ever public display of the complete Kiswah of the Holy Kaaba outside Makkah. The exhibition will take place from January 25 to May 25 at the Western Hajj Terminal, King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah.

The Kiswah, the cloth that covers the Kaaba, is made from silk and embroidered with gold and silver threads. It has been produced at the King Abdulaziz Complex since 1927 and is regarded as one of the finest examples of Islamic art and craftsmanship. Visitors will have a chance to see this masterpiece up close and learn about the skill and dedication behind its creation.

In addition to the Kiswah, the biennale will showcase a range of historical Islamic artifacts and contemporary artworks. The event aims to celebrate the rich heritage of Islamic art while also providing a modern perspective. Organizers expect over 600,000 visitors, including pilgrims and art enthusiasts, to attend the exhibition.

The Islamic Arts Biennale 2025 seeks to offer a deeper cultural and spiritual experience for attendees, blending history, religion, and creativity. By hosting such a significant event, Saudi Arabia continues to highlight its commitment to preserving Islamic traditions and promoting cultural appreciation on a global scale.
