Pakistani citizens planning to visit Portugal for tourism must obtain a short-stay Schengen visa, which allows a stay of up to 90 days. This visa also permits airport stopovers, transits, or short visits within one or more Schengen Member States. However, holding a Schengen visa does not guarantee entry, as border authorities will make the final decision upon the travelers arrival.

Visa Application Process in Pakistan

In Pakistan, applicants must submit their visa applications through Gerrys, an external visa service provider, instead of directly approaching the Portuguese embassy. Applicants are required to provide several documents, including proof of accommodation, the purpose of travel, and financial means to support their stay.

Minimum Bank Statement Requirement

One of the key financial requirements for a Portugal Schengen visa is a bank statement showing transactions from the past six months, duly stamped and signed by the bank.

To meet the financial requirements, travelers must have a minimum of 75 euros per day for their stay. For a 90-day visit, this amounts to 6,750 euros. Given the current exchange rate in Pakistan of PKR 290.75 per euro (as of February 20, 2025), applicants must have approximately PKR 2 million in their bank account to demonstrate sufficient funds.

Portugal Visit Visa Fee in Pakistan

The standard Portugal Schengen visa fee is 90 euros. Based on the latest exchange rate, this equates to PKR 26,167. Applicants must pay the visa fee for their application to be considered admissible.

Required Documents

To ensure a smooth visa application process, Pakistani travelers must provide the following documents:

Completed visa application form

Valid passport (with at least two blank pages and valid for at least three months beyond the intended stay)

Recent passport-sized photographs (as per Schengen visa photo requirements)

Travel itinerary, including flight reservations

Proof of accommodation, such as hotel bookings or an invitation letter from a host in Portugal

Travel health insurance covering at least 30,000 euros in medical expenses

Proof of sufficient financial means, including a six-month bank statement

Additional Entry Requirements

Upon arrival in Portugal, airport authorities may request additional documents to verify the purpose of the visit, accommodation details, and financial status. Travelers should ensure they carry copies of their visa-related documents to avoid any complications.

For Pakistani applicants, fulfilling these financial and documentation requirements is essential to secure a Portugal Schengen visa successfully.
