The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the national squad for the upcoming white-ball series against New Zealand, introducing some big changes to the team’s leadership.

Salman Ali Agha has been named the new captain for Pakistan’s T20 International (T20I) team. He will be supported by Shadab Khan, who has been appointed as the vice-captain for the T20I format.

In the One Day International (ODI) squad, Mohammad Rizwan will continue to serve as the captain, while Salman Ali Agha will take on the role of vice-captain.

These changes are part of PCB’s long-term strategy as they prepare for major tournaments like the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup in 2025 and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2026.

Salman Ali Agha previously led Pakistan in a series against Zimbabwe and performed well as a leader. Now, he has another opportunity to demonstrate his captaincy skills on a bigger stage.

The new appointments show PCB’s focus on building a strong and adaptable team for the future, blending experience with fresh leadership. Fans will be eager to see how the new captain and vice-captain guide the team in the upcoming matches against New Zealand.
