WhatsApp Users Can Now Translate Messages in Different Languages

WhatsApp has started testing a new translation feature for some Android users in its beta program. This feature is part of version 2.25.12.25 and lets users translate messages into different languages like Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, Hindi, and Russian—right inside the app.

The best part? The translation works directly on your phone. That means you don’t need the internet to use it. You can simply download the language packs and use the feature anytime, even when you’re offline. To turn it on, users can go to the chat information screen and activate it there.

If you want to translate a message, just long-press it and tap on “Translate.” This makes it quick and easy to understand messages in another language without leaving the chat. It’s useful for those who chat with people from different countries or speak multiple languages.

Since the translation happens on the device itself, WhatsApp says that your privacy is safe. Your messages won’t be sent to any external servers for translation, unlike many cloud-based tools. While this feature might not always be as perfect as online translators, WhatsApp is asking users to share their feedback so they can keep making it better.

For now, this translation tool is only available to some beta users, but it may be rolled out to more users soon. It’s a helpful step for making communication easier across languages, especially in today’s connected world. WhatsApp wants to keep improving the feature so it becomes more accurate and useful over time.

This new update shows that WhatsApp is working to make chatting smoother and more accessible for everyone, no matter what language they speak.
